ITINERARIES
DAY 1
NJP RAILWAY STATION / IXB (BAGDOGRA AIRPORT) - GANGTOK
Arrival at NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport. Transfer to Gangtok (5500ft /130kms / 04 hrs.). Overnight at Hotel at Gangtok.
DAY 2
GANGTOK
Morning excursion to Tsangu Lake & Baba Mandir (12400ft. / 54kms / 03 hrs.).Evening back to Gangtok. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 3
GANGTOK-LACHUNG
Pick-up from hotel at Gangtok at about 10 a.m. proceed to Lachung (124 Km, 6 Hrs) at an altitude of 8,600 ft. On the way stop and enjoy a few wonderful locations like Tashi View Point, Kabi Lungstok, Naga Waterfalls, the confluence of Lachen chu and Lachung Chu at Chungthang, Twin Waterfalls and Bhim Nala Waterfalls. Lunch will be served at Namok. You are likely to reach Lachung at late afternoon / in the evening and will check in our hotel.
DAY 4
LACHUNG-YUMTHANG-LACHUNG
After breakfast leave for Yumthang (11,800 ft. 43 Kms, 2 hrs on one way) On the way you may visit the famous hot spring. Yumthang is a large valley surrounded by mountains where the tree line ends. In April/ May /June the valley erupts in a riot of colours as Rhododendrons, Primulae and many other Alpine Flowers are in full bloom. In the winter months, Yumthang is somber with snow all around, and the anow clad mountains adding to the ethereal beauty. Return to Lachung for Lunch. After lunch visit Lachung Monastery, Cottage Industry and Waterfalls. Dinner will be served at about 8 p.m.
DAY 5
LACHUNG-GANGTOK
After breakfast leave for Gangtok. On the way stops between singhik, Mangan and if the weather is clear you may get to see the Khangchendzonga Range. This location offers a majestic view of Mt. Pandim, Mt. Kabru, Mt. Simvo, Mt. Jopuno, Mt. Khangchendzonga and Mt. Siniolchu. After lunch at Namok, visit Phodong Monastery on the way o/n at Gangtok.
DAY 6
GANGTOK- DARJELLING
After breakfast go for half day local tour covering Jhakri Water Falls, Ranka Monastery, Research Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday & govt.Holidays), DoDrul Chorten, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom(Closed on Sunday & Govt. Holidays) & Flower Show then transfer to Darjeeling. Check in hotel. Evening free for leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 7
DARJEELING
Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (at around at 4am) to morning view sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak (subject to clear weather ) on your way back visit Batasia Loop & Ghoom Monastery . After Breakfast city tour of Darjeeling visit Padmaja Naidu Himalaya Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, (Closed on Thursday), Happy Valley Tea Estate, Tenzing Rock & Gombu Rock & Tibetan Refugee Self – Help Center (Closed on Sunday). After lunch visit White Pagoda, Lalkothi (D.G.H.C.Assembly not allowed inside), Ava Art Gallery, Dirham Temples & Natural History Museum & Rock Garden. Overnight at Hotel
DAY 8
MIRIK EXCURSIONS
After Breakfast drive down to visit Mirik Lake (55 Km, 02 Hrs) en route Pashupati Market (Indo-Nepal Border). Overnight stay at Hotel
DAY 9
DARJELLING – NJP RAILWAY STATION / IXB AIRPORT
After breakfast leave Darjeeling and proceed towards – NJP railway station/Bagdogra Airport (110 kms / 3 hrs) for your onward journey.
